The Union Band will be hosting the 45th annual McChesney Band Festival tomorrow (Saturday, October 17) at Bullitt Park.. The competition begins at 1:00 pm and will include performances by 17 regional marching bands. The Union Band performs in exhibition at 5:15 pm. Please come out and support our area marching bands.. admission is $10.00

We have been asked to share the following flu clinic information:

The Lenowisko Health Department has shared dates and times for upcoming school-based flu clinics for students.

Parents/guardians may register online by using the REDCap link provided on the flyer or by clicking the link below:

The Lenowisko Health Department is requesting that consent forms be completed by October 4, 2026. Health Department staff will begin collecting completed forms after this date. Please note that additional consent forms received after October 4 will still be accepted.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to review the linked flyer for clinic dates, times, and additional information.

Hello UMS, we've had a very successful bullying prevention week. Thank you all for the participation as it has been great and we've had a great week at UMS!

Tomorrow's theme is "Bear Down to Bullies" Wear your Bear stuff (thank you to the wonderfully awesome Mr. Stidham for this theme).

Just a reminder that end of day announcements start at 12:20 tomorrow.

We are excited to share that our latest school rankings have been officially released!

Union Middle School has earned the title of "Distinguished School".

Across Region 7—which encompasses 19 school divisions across Southwest Virginia—here is how Union Middle School performed​ (Just so you know, there are a lot of schools in Lee, Scott, Wise, Norton, Dickenson, Buchanan, Washington, Bristol, Tazewell, Bland, Carroll, Giles, Grayson, Pulaski, Russell, Smyth, Wythe, Galax, and Radford​):
