Hi there! 👋🏻
It’s been a minute, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself real quick 🤭
✴︎ My name is Madison Denhardt. I am a multi-instrumentalist and singer, and my passion is to share my musical abilities through teaching music. I grew up singing and playing in church at a young age and playing in my sister-made band. Later in my musical journey, I joined to be in a duo “Honeysuckle Dream”, and currently am playing as a solo singer-songwriter. Some of my teaching accomplishments include teaching through Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM), teaching as adjunct faculty in guitar and fiddle at Mountain Empire Community College, and teaching annually at MECC’s Mountain Music School. I perform some locally and regionally when the opportunity arises.
✴︎ I teach beginning to intermediate levels of guitar, mandolin, fiddle, ukulele, and vocals. I have had several years of teaching experience with students of all ages and several different genres. My goal is to bring not only education to my teaching, but also help a student build confidence and learn in a place where they feel comfortable. I love getting to bring a student’s favorite songs to life, and seeing the “light bulb” moments happen when a student finally reaches their goals. Or maybe if a student doesn’t have goals, I love encouraging them to create some and work towards that.
✴︎ Through the last 4 years of Mac Music (name of my previous music store and current lesson studio), I have taught over 100 students through the shop and summer camps we hosted. Some intermediate students have had the opportunity to play at some local gigs in Wise County. Almost every student has participated in the end-of-the-semester recital as well.
✴︎ I’m located in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. I used to have the music store next to Goodtimes Pizza downtown, but now teach at another place in town.
✴︎ If this type of learning sounds up your alley, feel free to shoot me a message to get started today! I’d LOVE to get to work with you! 🤗
