What a fantastic week at Career Cruisin' into Summer! โ๏ธ
Last week, our students wrapped up an exciting week of learning, creating, and exploring careers through hands-on activities and new experiences. While the week ended with some hot and humid Michigan weather, everyone was grateful for the cold treats that helped keep spirits high and smiles even bigger! ๐ฆ๐
Thank you to all of our instructors, staff, students, and families who made this week such a success. We loved seeing students discover new interests, build skills, make friends, and have fun along the way.
We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer, and we look forward to seeing you at future MOCC programs and events!

Sunday night, MOCC instructors Andy Klimek and Kelli Bollin, along with our talented students, returned home after an incredible 1,800+ mile journey to the National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, held June 1โ6.
Our Graphics & Printing Technology and Cosmetology students earned the opportunity to compete on the national stage after winning their respective SkillsUSA Michigan state competitions.
The Graphics & Printing Technology team of Grace Barrett (CCA), Lindsey Raffel (CCA), and Alana Senopole (EHS) competed in the Promotional Bulletin Board competition against 40 teams from across the country. Their hard work and creativity earned them an impressive 11th-place finish nationally!
Representing MOCC in the Cosmetology competition, Liyah Wiersma, a 13th-year student and former MSHS student, placed 14th overall out of 20 competitors. Competing at the national level provided valuable experience and an opportunity to showcase her skills among some of the nation's best. Next up for Liyah: her state board exams!
We are incredibly proud of these students for representing MOCC, their schools, and our community with professionalism, dedication, and excellence. Congratulations on an outstanding achievement! ๐โจ

The Agriscience Program at the MOCC has been hard at work planting grape vines for their new table grape vineyard! ๐๐ฑ
Each class session is responsible for caring for and planting two different grape varieties, giving students hands-on experience in vineyard management and crop production. Students also staked the vines to help train them to grow up the posts and prepare for healthy growth.
Next up: building the trellis system that will support the vineyard as the vines continue to grow and develop. Weโre excited to watch this project take shape and see all the learning opportunities it brings for our students!
