Architecture Students!
Many of you are already involved with our FSU chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS). With the nature of classes at present, we as the E-board recognize that group engagement has become challenging. However, there is still opportunity for you as an individual to stay connected with AIAS and take advantage of the many benefits the organization has to offer.
AIAS seeks to connect the opportunities of the profession to architectural education. Registering with the organization means access to programming and events, such as conferences and competitions, which provide the opportunity to connect with architecture students throughout the country in addition to professionals in the field. AIAS also has many partners which offer discounts and even free subscriptions to materials and resources which can broaden your skillset as a designer and architecture student. To find out more about the benefits of membership, visit the AIAS website at https://www.aias.org/membership/ .
Membership does require a yearly dues payment of $47 to AIAS National. However, in an effort to make this decision easier, the Architecture Department has offered to cover dues for ten students on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please contact AIAS Vice-President, Leah Nagy at [email protected] by MONDAY, DECEMBER 14. Send your name and email address, and once the dues have been paid to the national organization, you will be notified of your membership.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin your relationship with the AIA, which can help guide you through the many stages of your professional career in architecture. The credential as a member of the student chapter will look good on a resume, or a graduate school application. Please don't miss out on this opportunity to engage with the organization, and keep the Ferris State AIAS chapter alive through these challenging times.
Sincerely,
Leah Nagy, AIAS Vice-President
