Our first day of CCA Sports Academy was a huge success! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our young athletes in 2-5 grades had an exciting opportunity to learn the fundamentals and build their skills in Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Track & Field, and Cheer. The energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork on display made for an incredible start to the program. The K-1 students are learning about healthy eating, teamwork and learning new movements through fun games.

A special thank you to our outstanding coaches for their dedication and hard work in making this day a success. We can't wait to see our athletes continue to grow throughout the academy!

A great end to the first session of summer the summer learning program! Students got to learn about solar energy in a fun and tasty way. They made solar powered ovens and cooked sโ€™mores. The K-2 group investigated properties of matter by making slime. They ended the day with some ice cream!

Another fun day of Summer Learning at Crossroads! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿฆ‰
Our Kโ€“2 students explored the world of sound by creating their own instruments from different materials and investigating how each one produced unique sounds. Through hands-on experimentation, they discovered how materials can affect pitch, volume, and tone.
Meanwhile, our 3โ€“5 students learned about the amazing hearing abilities of owls and how these nocturnal hunters use sound to locate prey in the dark. They also explored the importance of active listening and practiced paying close attention to the sounds of nature around them.
It was a day filled with curiosity, discovery, and lots of listening as students connected science learning to the world around them! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŽต

Sunday night, MOCC instructors Andy Klimek and Kelli Bollin, along with our talented students, returned home after an incredible 1,800+ mile journey to the National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, held June 1โ€“6.

Our Graphics & Printing Technology and Cosmetology students earned the opportunity to compete on the national stage after winning their respective SkillsUSA Michigan state competitions.

The Graphics & Printing Technology team of Grace Barrett (CCA), Lindsey Raffel (CCA), and Alana Senopole (EHS) competed in the Promotional Bulletin Board competition against 40 teams from across the country. Their hard work and creativity earned them an impressive 11th-place finish nationally!

Representing MOCC in the Cosmetology competition, Liyah Wiersma, a 13th-year student and former MSHS student, placed 14th overall out of 20 competitors. Competing at the national level provided valuable experience and an opportunity to showcase her skills among some of the nation's best. Next up for Liyah: her state board exams!

We are incredibly proud of these students for representing MOCC, their schools, and our community with professionalism, dedication, and excellence. Congratulations on an outstanding achievement! ๐Ÿ‘โœจ
