On Monday, our students in TDMP 276 - Lighting for Film and Video, had the chance to tour Lowing Studios in Grand Rapids and experience a hands-on demo of cinema equipment on location. Thanks to alumni Sam Sanders and Matt Lowing from Lowing Light and Grip for leading the demonstration of using the Fisher dolly and setting up powerful lights like the Aputure XT52. This gives our students extra experience working with industry-standard equipment outside of the classroom!

Broadcast Engineering Minor | College of Business | Ferris State University 05/19/2026

The Broadcast Engineering Minor at Ferris State was created to prepare graduates for careers supporting broadcasting of all kinds. We heard through discussions with the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, and with TDMP alumni across the country, of the dire need that exists now for newly trained professionals who can support the increasingly network-dependent signal flow that broadcasts depend on. Pursuing this minor will put a graduate in high demand. Check out the link below for more information.
