Our staff would like to congratulate Lindsy Bigford on her accomplishments. She first passed class and the NREMT Practical Boards, next she passed the NREMT Written Boards, lastly she had a successful interview and is the newest member of the Mecosta County Emergency Medical Services.one more example of what success looks like, a local student trained by local educators and local industry, now serving our local community! Great job Lindsy, we are very proud of the hard work you put in this year.

From syncope in a bathroom, to seated, stable back pain in a car. Sims are what you make them, throw in a difficult parent and we are now getting real world. Procedures are easy to demonstrate, however effective communication skills are not without the actors. A big thank you to our para educators for stepping In and helping.

We would like to say thank you so much to all the firefighters that assist our students on their journey to earning one of the best certifications on the planet. There are far to many of you to name, but you know who you are. Running our local students through an approved State of Michigan Fire 1&2 with HazMat Academy is a monumental task made manageable with help from our industry partners. With the demand growing for fire fighters and EMS personnel at an alarming rate, we will always take you up on your offers to assist. Thank you for missing holidays, birthdays, days at work, meals, sporting events, awards ceremonies, and so much more to serve our local communities, it is always appreciated. Thank you to the families who are often over looked for allowing your firefighters to leave and help someone in need!

These pictures can only mean one thing, Star Boards time for the Recruits. All day Thursday for the proctored written, and all day Friday for the practical. We would like to thank the members of the Big Rapids Professional Firefighters L1776 for their assistance as well as members of the Big Rapids Township Fire Department, Mecosta Twp Fire Dept, Mecosta County EMS, and the Morley Area Fire Dept. The best part was having alumni there to proctor and support our local students. We can proudly report that all that tested passed the practical today! Great job recruits of the MOCC 4th Fire Academy!
