Official AkaMya AI Generated Art Statement

Manahu, we at AkaMya hereby request that any collaborating organizations, tribes, artists, media outlets, news organizations, volunteers and participants do not use AI (Artificial Intelligence) generated art, flyers, social media posts, memes, audio, video, music or multimedia when working with us or in partnership. No AkaMya group/artists images, video, audio, recordings, art and multimedia may be used to generate or train AI content.
AkaMya Culture Group is a Native American/Indigenous owned and operated nonprofit organization which is also a grassroots collective of artists, families and community members.
We have a responsibility to protect our land, resources and people from these practices which contribute to the extractive Data Centers. These data processing facilities are being built at alarming rates, and many are on federal tribal lands. These centers extract natural water sources, make waste water, produce constant impactful noise pollution, disrupt natural habitats, and generate heat at unprecedented rates.
We ask all, to stand in solidarity against the development of these data centers, the harm and damage they perpetuate on our native/indigenous communities and to not contribute, nor support the usage of AI generated art.

AkaMya will be hosting the Tri-County Fair Opening, Numu Night this year. We are sending out an all call to local native/indigenous artists, singers, dancers, flutists, royalty and cultural presenters to come and represent our people to the community as we start the Labor Day weekend celebrations.
If you are interested in participating, each participant will receive free entry for themselves and their family's opening night. Please register by Friday Aug. 28, so we have a proper headcount and know who will be presenting with us and coordinate our order of show.

Eeyaho, Manahu!
Today we remember and honor the Pueblo Revolt of Aug. 10, 1680
The Pueblo Tribes coordinated under leadership of Pope'. Runners were sent out to each village with a knotted rope. Each day, a knot was removed and the rope was used as a timer. When the final knot was undone in this day, all the Pueblo people attacked Spaniard colonies, driving them out. This key victory helped establish the Pueblo people, and is a reason our people still have strong connection to language, culture, spiritual practices and our homelands. A victory worthy of recognition and honoring.
So next time you hear, "we defeated your people...". That is incorrect, this was a key victory against European colonizers.

We are evolving! What started off as a projector class has evolved into "DANCE FITNESS" a high-cardio, HIIT-style dance fitness program designed for all abilities. It combines elements of traditional dance styles—primarily jazz, ballet, and hip-hop—with standard calisthenics led by the amazing Pam "Jam" Hastings
EVERY MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY 6PM SKO!!! Don't be discouraged if you have never done anything like it. All you gotta do is move your body, your brain will catch you up. ALL LEVELS
