Last Thursday night was Youth Night for Big Lake Volleyball, and our youth volleyball players received the VIP treatment! 👑 🏐

During the Varsity match against Princeton, our future stars were recognized before the game, and there were even opportunities to win door prizes and get autographs from both Varsity and JV players.

Parent/Athlete/Coach Meeting : Big Lake High School, Auditorium
This meeting is for all players/families from grades 7-12.

Fall Activities Meeting Grades 7-12 : Parent/Athlete/Coach Meeting
Each meeting will begin in the auditorium with a presentation by Mark Kuisle, Activities Director, followed by team breakout sessions with your coaches.

Congratulations to recent graduate Sydnie Loftus for being selected to play in the MFCA All-Star Series this past Sunday in Mankato!

Sydnie was an all-conference award winner for the Hornets, primarily as a pitcher and playing first base.

Hornet head softball coach Kim Bowen was recently inducted into the Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association (MFCA) Hall of Fame at a reception in Mankato.

In 31 seasons of leading Big Lake, Coach Bowen has amassed 427 wins with a .637 winning percentage. Under her leadership, the Hornets have won seven conference championships and nine section championships, earning two runner-up finishes at state in 2000 and 2002.

Kim is pictured with Chelsea (Erickson) Thomes, a former player who nominated her for the award. Thomes is currently a pitching coach at the College of Saint Benedict.

Our Big Lake/Princeton boys' lacrosse team knocked off Rocori in the first round of sections last night 8-7. This was the program's first ever postseason victory!

On the offensive side of the ball, Landon Bagne led all Huskies scorers with 4 goals. Jack Midas added 1 goal and 4 assists, Declan Weber added 1 goal and 2 assists, and Cash McCrone and Mason Krebs added 1 goal each.
On defense, goalie Hank Kuchera shut down multiple Rocori shot attempts on net.

The Huskies now advance to face #2 seeded St. Michael-Albertville on Wednesday at 6:30pm at STMA High School.
