Imparting skills and knowledge in nutrition assessment, program planning, food policy, sports nutrit

UNE's Nutrition program focuses on practical skills that are in demand by employers, such as nutrition assessment, program planning, food policymaking, sports nutrition, health education, and food & nutrition communications. UNE Nutrition students are able to:

- Develop and apply a systems-oriented lens as it relates to the application of nutrition science for health promotion and disease prevent

ion in a wide variety of settings.

- Describe and apply core research ethics, principles, and analytical techniques for measuring and improving the nutrition status and environment of individuals and communities.

- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the capacity to collaborate with partners and stakeholders from a wide variety of government, non-profit, community, and business entities. The expertise and knowledge gained through this program prepares students to be employable in a variety of sectors, including business and manufacturing, government, higher education, non-profit, and community organizations. UNE Nutrition students pursue careers as public health nutritionists, nutrition educators, nutrition and fitness counselors, systems and policy analysts, allied health professionals, and program managers, employable locally, nationally, and internationally.
