🤖 Building Skills for the Future! Great Summer working!

We want to thank Industrial Automation Supply (IAS) for their ongoing partnership with BRCOT and their commitment to providing continued education and future employment opportunities for our students.

This summer, one of our students, Olivia, had the opportunity to work with IAS in the growing field of robotics and industrial automation. She gained valuable hands-on experience building control cabinets used across a wide variety of industries.

Industrial automation is an increasingly technical field, where every project presents unique demands, systems, and control requirements. Experiences like this allow our students to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it directly in a professional setting.

Thank you to IAS for investing in our students, strengthening our programs, and helping prepare the next generation of skilled professionals for careers in robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing!

⚡Summer Hands-On Learning with Central Maine Power! ⚡

Over the past 10 weeks, incoming second year BRCOT electrical students Ben Brown (Thornton Academy), Evan Hutchings (Thornton Academy), Matt Gay (Thornton Academy) and Will Kendall (Thornton Academy) participated in the competitive CMP (Central Maine Power) paid internship program gained valuable, hands-on experience in the electric utility industry while learning alongside experienced CMP employees. Last Friday was graduation day where family and BRCOT staff were invited to see their learned skills and celebrate their hard work.

The internship combined classroom instruction with supervised field experience, giving students exposure to:
🔹 Line and substation operations
🔹 Industry safety practices
🔹 Tools and equipment
🔹 Essential electrical trade skills
🔹 Real-world utility operations

Opportunities like this allow students to take the skills they develop at BRCOT and apply them directly in the workplace while exploring potential career pathways.

A huge thank you to Central Maine Power and its employees for investing their time and expertise in the next generation of skilled workers—and congratulations to our students for taking on this challenging opportunity! ⚡👏

⚡🔌 BRCOT Electrical Students Powering La Kermesse! 🔌⚡

This past week, BRCOT Electrical Technology students have been hard at work wiring the 43rd annual La Kermesse Festival in Biddeford.

Students are expanding their electrical knowledge beyond traditional residential and commercial projects by learning the unique requirements of temporary power systems used for fairs, carnivals, and festivals. Temporary event wiring presents a completely different set of challenges, regulations, and electrical codes that must be followed and approved through local inspections to ensure the safety of vendors, performers, and visitors.

We are proud of our students for taking on this real-world learning opportunity and gaining valuable hands-on experience in a specialized area of the electrical trade.

A special thank you to our students and instructors for braving the hot and humid conditions while helping prepare this community event for success. Your hard work, dedication, and professionalism are greatly appreciated!
