Big news! A second former Harborlight parent has come up with another challenge. This very generous former parent of an alum will match the second $5000 we raise on Tuesday. Every dollar you give will be doubled, and $10,000 now becomes $20,000. Not a bad day’s work!

From Harborlight to Carnegie Hall! Class of 2020 Harborlight Graduate, Elin Thomas, is performing in a recital for the Elite Music Competition at Carnegie Hall on Feb. 19. She submitted a video application, was judged and invited to perform in the "Winners Recital." Elin's family writes, "Many thanks to Katie for her expert teaching and constant support and Elaine who will be accompanying Elin on the piano at Carnegie Hall!"

Elite International Music Competition is an annual event held in New York that accommodates instrumentalists, vocalists, and small chamber ensembles.

Wow. We love learning about Harborlight alumni who are pursuing their dreams in such powerful ways. Congratulations, Via!
There is so much great content in the link below about what Via has accomplished..... here is just a bit of it...
At Global View Communications, she uses what she’s learned both in the classroom and beyond to help organizations develop diversity and inclusion strategies that empower individuals and promote equality. “I want to be like the mentors I’ve had and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion professionals that I've had the opportunity to work with,” says Valenti. “I want to help make changes that people and future generations can capitalize on.”
She is also continuing her education by simultaneously pursuing her M.A. in Corporate Diversity at Tufts University and her MBA in Leadership at Bentley. “The more I learn, the more I realize learning never ends,” Valenti states. “I'm trying to develop knowledge that then I can pass on.”

Via Valenti '21 found a network that empowered her to empower others and prepare for a career promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

We have so many talented Alumni who could be interested. From the Cape Ann Museum! Looking for Creative Teens! Check out the August 20th event as well!
The Teen Arts Council also developed a new Instagram account for the Museum to highlight the work of local teen artists while also promoting activities and events that appeal to young people at the Museum. Follow the Instagram profile to stay up to date on the Teen Arts Council.

With very little notice we pulled off an alumni cookout on campus tonight. Many of us couldn't stop smiling as familiar faces..now older...arrived and joined us on the greenhouse lawn. We are pretty humbled by the amazing group of not-so-much-children-anymore who represent us as alumni and are so proud of each and every one of them. It was really special to see them interact with each other and so amazing for us to reconnect with them this evening. We will, without a doubt, continue to host alumni events each summer and we hope the crowd grows each time. Thank you to those who shared tonight with us....and we look forward to catching up with those we missed next time!
