From Pre-K through Grade 5, each morning begins with a chance to come together. Morning Meeting gives students time to check in with one another, reflect on thoughtful questions, and start the day feeling connected to their classroom community.

One morning might bring a new way to greet each other in another language, while another sparks a conversation about what it means to be a good friend, classmate, or community member. These small moments encourage students to listen, share, and learn more about one another.

It’s a simple, meaningful way to begin each day, together.

It was a great afternoon for soccer yesterday ⚽

Our home fields were buzzing as Girls Varsity Soccer welcomed Rockport Middle School and Boys JV Soccer faced Tower School.

From the opening whistle to the final moments, both Shore teams brought energy, determination, teamwork, and plenty of school spirit to the field. It was a fun fall afternoon cheering on our student-athletes. Go Shore!

Grade 5 is a special year at Shore, as students begin stepping into new leadership roles and looking out for our younger learners. One of the sweetest parts of that responsibility is our Grade 5 and Kindergarten Buddy program, where each student is paired with a buddy to learn, play, and explore throughout the year.

This time, buddies headed off campus together for a favorite fall tradition, our annual trip to Russell Orchards. With Grade 5 students helping their Kindergarten buddies along the way, the day was filled with apple picking, fall fun, and plenty of opportunities to get to know one another.

These shared experiences are about much more than apples. They’re a chance for our older students to grow as leaders while building meaningful connections with younger members of the Shore community. We can’t wait to watch these friendships continue to grow throughout the year! 🍎

From Ground to Table! 🍞

Grade 3 continued a favorite tradition — making bread the ancient way! As students begin their exploration of ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, they are learning how historical artifacts can help piece together the past and deepen their understanding of the world today.

Students took turns mixing and kneading their dough before shaping it into small balls, placing them in clay pots, and carefully setting them over a small coal fire. After about 40 minutes of patient waiting, it was finally time for the best part: tasting their freshly baked, crispy bread!

A little butter and honey from Ms. Babcock’s own honey bees made the experience even sweeter. Hands-on, delicious, and rooted in history, there’s a reason this Grade 3 tradition remains a student favorite!

It’s another House day at Shore! 🎉🌈

Cove, Dune, Harbor, Jetty, Marsh, and Shoal gathered in their own special spots around campus for their first individual House meeting of the new school year. It was a morning of fun, connection, and plenty of House spirit!

New housemates were introduced, and they spent time learning more about the mascots and characteristics that make each House unique. They even created their own House emblems to wear — from moose antlers for Marsh and unicorn horns for Dune to music makers for Jetty, and more!

House Meetings bring students from each grade level, colleagues, and families together, creating moments to connect and help build a sense of belonging within their House and the larger Shore community. We loved seeing all that House pride on display!

Throw back to nicer weather on this rainy day 🌧️

Last week, our youngest learners had a new way to explore, experiment, and get a little wet! Our new water table has officially arrived and is in the Learning Garden, creating a hands-on space where Pre-K students can discover how water moves, flows, and changes.

Designed especially for young learners, the Water Table is a perfect addition to our garden built around curiosity and discovery. We can’t wait to see where their imaginations — and the water — will take them!

Building, Creating, and Coding in the Innovation Lab! 🤖

Grade 6 students are getting hands-on experience in the ILab with Mr. McNall, designing and building their own robots! As they work through each step, students are putting their creativity and problem-solving skills to work. It was wonderful to welcome Shore families back to campus for Back-to-School Night! Parents and teachers came together to celebrate all that students have accomplished in the first weeks of school and to share ideas for supporting them as they settle into the rhythm of the academic year.
