Environmental & Sustainability Education for children. www.changeissimple.org Change is Simple also offers sustainability consulting services.

Change is Simple lessons are delivered in a series of 1-hour lessons taught throughout the school year, and year over year as students move from second to sixth grade. The lessons are delivered by our staff of environmental experts and college science, sustainability, and education students. Each lesson is focused on an environmental topic and students explore the topic using engaging and hands on

activities and learning tools. All lessons are STEM driven and align with Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies standards. Services include designing sustainability strategies, organizing sustainable/ zero waste events, and connecting organizations with key players in their community. Consulting services are available to the entire community, including but not limited to, schools, afterschool programs, businesses, restaurants, condominium/ apartment associations, and other non-profit organizations. Change is Simple can help you cut costs and operate as a more socially and environmentally responsible organization.

Change is Simple is excited to be attending Beverly’s Garden Party, hosted by Beverly400+, on August 8. There will be fantastic floral displays, a butterfly garden, live music, and much more. We will have a table there and will be making sustainable newspaper pots and planting herbs 🌸 ! During our event, we also heard from current Salem Public Schools student, Fiona. She shared her favorite memories of Change is Simple and how much she appreciated being able to have fun and be involved in hands-on activities 🙌 while still learning 🧑‍🏫. She shared a memory of a time she applied what she learned with Change is Simple in an ordinary, real-life scenario. A loved one left the air conditioner on needlessly and she turned it off, reminding them of the importance of conserving resources, such as energy. This demonstrates a great example of one of Change is Simple's most important beliefs — that anyone can help the planet, and it really does all add up!

Thank you Fiona for helping make the evening so special by sharing your experiences with Change is Simple in your classroom, and for spreading hope and awareness for a brighter and cleaner future to those around you 🤗.

Join the New England Water Environment Association 🌊 this August for Teacher Training (K-12) at the South Essex Sewerage District in Salem, MA. 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 50 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴!

A certificate of attendance will be handed out at the end of the event, and Professional Development points will be provided! Additionally you can expect to:
✅ Participate in a treatment plant tour and activities.
✅ Learn about NEWEA classroom presentations.
✅ Engage in a hands-on Earth Echo Water Challenge workshop that you can repeat with your own students!
✅ Discover practical approaches, lesson ideas, and tools that help educators bring climate and water topics into their classrooms in engaging and accessible ways.

During our event, we heard from special guest and Change is Simple alumnus 🎓, Will. Because of his experiences with Change is Simple as an elementary student, Will decided to pursue a career in environmental policy and advocacy 🌎. Last month, he graduated from Connecticut College with a Dual-Degree in Government and Psychology and was recently accepted into Northeastern’s Master of Science in Applied Quantitative Methods and Social Analysis program. Thank you Will for sharing your story of the long-term impact of our programming 💚!

On Wednesday, May 20, we gathered during the 𝓘𝓽 𝓐𝓵𝓵 𝓐𝓭𝓭𝓼 𝓤𝓹 2026 Spring Event — 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 for an unforgettable night 🌙! Because of your generosity and support, we are thrilled to share that together we raised $180,526 to celebrate and advance 15 years of our mission of instilling lifelong social and environmental responsibility through experiential climate learning that inspires action. 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆, our work was brought to life by the powerful stories shared by Fiona, a 6th grade Change is Simple student, and Will, a Change is Simple alumni 🎓.
