📚💙 **Help Us Start the School Year Strong at KOG!** 💙📚

As we head into a new school year at Kevin O’Grady School, we are excited to continue building on one of our biggest instructional priorities: **making literacy and phonics instruction accessible to every student.** 🔤📖

Our students learn in so many different ways, so we are working hard to make sure phonics instruction is **hands-on, engaging, meaningful, and accessible across all ages and abilities.** From our youngest learners to our young adults, every student deserves opportunities to build literacy skills!

We put together a small **Amazon Wish List** with some of the back-to-school materials that will help our teachers bring these phonics activities to life in their classrooms. 💙

If you are someone who would like to help KOG get the year off to a great start, we would be incredibly grateful for anything you are able to contribute. Every item — big or small — helps our teachers create more opportunities for our students to **learn, communicate, participate, and grow.**

Thank you, as always, for being part of the KOG community and for supporting our incredible students and staff! 💙

Thanks to a grant from Arts for Learning Massachusetts, KOG wrapped up the school year with a performance by Drumatix! Using a creative mix of dance, body percussion, and drumming on everyday objects, the group had students and staff clapping, dancing, and drumming. It was a fun and energetic way to celebrate the end of another great school year. 🪘 🥁

Many of you may remember Kathy Hardwick, a beloved KOG teacher, colleague, and friend. In her honor, her family created the Kathy’s Kids Foundation , which supports NEC and its students.

The Foundation is putting together a video tribute to celebrate Kathy’s lasting impact and is looking for friends, colleagues, and former students to participate. Video and/or short write up contributions (with photos if you want) are due by June 30. Please see the attached flyer for details! 💙

Last week, KOG students lit up the stage once again with their talent at the EXTRaordinary Talent Show! Students showcased their extraordinary talents with singing, choreographed dances, cheerleading stunts, magic, jokes, glow in the dark basketball, and even reciting Shakespeare! 🎤🌟

We are so proud of our students- Thank you to all the staff who helped make it so special and families who came to watch our hard work 💛 ✨
