Sometimes a strategy was useful in the moment, but it depended heavily on outside support and did not fully build the underlying executive functioning skill needed for long-term independence.
This does not mean the learner failed or that the tool was bad. It usually means the system needs to be updated. Executive functioning support works best when tools continue to evolve alongside the learnerās responsibilities, growth, and daily demands. When systems are reviewed and adjusted over time, they stay useful, sustainable, and better matched to real life.
Visual tools can make organization much easier for learners with ADHD because they reduce the need to hold everything in working memory.
