Last night many in Hadassah the best and most effective, meaningful ways to talk about antisemitism with Northern Area of Hadassah Southern California. This important advocacy event was lead by Joshua Burt, Regional Director for the ADL in conversation with Shari Cohen Forsythe, Advocacy Chair and Stacey Dorenfeld, Northern Area President. Today more than ever it is crucial that we have comfortable conversations about confronting antisemitism. Thank you Hadassah Northern Area for this impactful evening.

We join with Jewish community partners in standing with the San Diego Muslim community. This week, Hadassah leaders joined Jewish California in Sacramento and Jewish Federations of North America in Washington, DC to advocate against hate and increased security funding for houses of worship and community institutions.

Mother’s Day and Hadassah go hand in hand.
You do not need to be a biological mother to celebrate and take pride in the work we do every day. Hadassah’s most profound Mother’s Day story is rooted in the legacy of our legendary founder, Henrietta Szold. Though she had no biological children, she is remembered as the “Mother of Israel,” and Israel’s modern Mother’s Day, now Family Day, was established on the anniversary of her passing.
Her legacy of compassion, healing, rescue, and resilience remains at the heart of Hadassah’s mission. Today, we proudly continue Henrietta’s work and honor the many ways women nurture, lead, support, and strengthen our communities.
On this Mother’s Day, I celebrate all of you—whether you are honoring yourself, your mother, your children, or the loved ones who have shaped your life.
Wishing you a beautiful and meaningful Mother’s Day.
Lots of Love,
Lisa Hoffman
HSC President
