YES…

I love the beautiful parts of homeschooling.

The freedom.
The curiosity.
The slow mornings.
The confidence.
The travel.
The personalized learning.
The relationship we get to build with our children.

BUT…

like every worthwhile investment it requires discipline and dedication.

The airport meltdowns. ✈️
The lesson that ends in tears.
The lesson that completely flops.
The days when you question whether you’re doing enough.
The moments when you have to step back instead of rescue.
The constant process of learning what actually works for your child.

Because homeschooling isn’t about creating a perfect school at home.

It’s about creating an education that fits the whole child.

7 pro-tips for first time homeschoolers:

1. Project based education 👑

2. Start slow: two or three days of structured homeschooling weekly is enough for students who are not homeschooling independently yet.

3. Find out your child’s dominant learning style.

4. Get a multiple intelligence assessment: Lidben Sánchez | Coach adolescentes y familia is the expert behind our engine.

5. Build your child’s learning plan around his/her strengths.

6. Grade levels are for standardized systems: don’t be afraid to meet your child at the level they are at.

7. If you can choose your year-end evaluation style: a portfolio review is a better than a test.

What I would NEVER trade for homeschooling my child 🤍

I know homeschooling isn’t for everyone — and that’s okay. But there are certain things about our homeschool life that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

I wouldn’t trade…

• Slow mornings together instead of rushing out the door
• Watching the moment a concept finally clicks
• Being there for the little everyday moments I might otherwise miss
• The freedom to take a day off when we need one
• Learning at my child’s pace instead of comparing them to a classroom full of kids
• Having more time for family, play, nature, and real-life learning
• Knowing my child on a deeper level because I get to be part of so much of their learning
• The inside jokes, random conversations, and unexpected questions that happen throughout our homeschool day
• Building an education around my child rather than forcing my child into an education
• The memories we’re making in this season of our homeschooling journey

Homeschooling can be messy. It can be challenging because children tend to be more themselves and less performative around their mom- that can be tough to manage.

But then I remember…

I’m not just homeschooling my child. I’m getting to experience their childhood alongside them.

And that is something I would never trade. 🥹🤍
