Sneak peak at some *happier* farm news...

A few weeks ago, I went with my long-time mentor, Kale Saylor, to look at Marilyn Muirs lovely herd. I had ZERO plans of anything other than to admire and chat and support an old friend in his new ventures...

That quickly went out the window 😆

Walking into the barn, I instantly saw a face I had always loved but had sadly never taken the opportunity to make mine; Kiplings Darby Girl.

A couple of chats later with Marilyn, AND with myself about my sanity, a deal was made and I brought not only Darby home but also the filly at her side! 😅

Darby is a granddaughter to my missing heart horse, SYLRTomoros Golden Kisses. I was 3 days too late on my offer to buy a Kisses daughter [who is in a phenomenal home, exactly where she belongs] and I had already kicked myself once for letting Darby slip past me.

I didnt see any of this coming but I am so super thankful that it did. The Lord gives small silver linings, even in some of the darkest clouds. 💜

Pictured is Darby's almost 3 month old filly, Muirs Uptown Girl. **Brinks is the barn name decided - short for Christy Brinkley and also short for a Brinks Bank Truck, because girl is a TANK !** 🤪🥰

Yesterday took another piece of my heart. 💔

I hadnt recently shared, but Layla, our Truwest Smoke Lika Lady, had been battling cancer. We had done a couple of rounds of chemo but it sadly only slightly delayed the inevitable, and yesterday we laid her to rest before quality of life was totally gone.

Layla was always a force of nature and an amazing mare who loved fiercely. Motherhood was her favorite part of life, and I am so thankful for the gorgeous babies she gave. I am also so very thankful for being able to have even owned such a mare and for our years together. 💜

This lovely c**t is not mine but is owned by Mennonite friends and he is available.

The family are new to breeding and thus how to take photos for advertisement, but they did a pretty good job capturing his handsomeness and solid body in these photos, as well as some of the fun they have with him!

Banner, the c**t, is handled every single day and by anywhere from 2-6 children. He ties, picks up his feet, jumps into any trailer, climbs the porch steps, stands on a mount, and is learning more every day. He is one of the oldest souls in such a young body, but still loves to have fun with his people. I have a very strong feeling this boy is going to bond hard with his person and be the forever partner of someones dreams. He is extremely athletic and so very well built. A gorgeous face, fantastic neck and shoulder, short back, nice croup, and cute round b***y on some pretty long legs. The entire package in a solid black beauty. 😍

This is a warm up advertisement for this boy. I will try to get some video the next visit I have with them, and any other captures a potential forever home may want in the mean time.

So much loss in the recent years, and this year hasnt been much different.

Windi, Whippoorwill Woodwind, was leased to a fantastic Morgan breeder, and friend, foal due, and had a freak heart attack/aneurysm that took her, and more sad, the gorgeous c**t she was soon to give birth too. An impeccibly bred, phenomenal, sweet mare - gone too soon.

We also recently had to say goodbye to our patriarch mare here, DM Regencys Reeses Peace, due to a stroke she couldnt come back from. Her last day we spent laying in the sunshine as I stroked her face, telling her how thankful I was to her, waiting for the vet to arrive. Reese was retired early from breeding due to suspensory ligiments that were no longer suspending anything, and I am very lucky to have a daughter of hers in the paddock.

I have been incredibly blessed through the years with such irreplaceable Morgans, and am so thankful for the time I was able to share with them. I hope they knew how loved they were.

We are far overdue for a recent post... so without further ado...

*DERAWNDA TU TONE TALLY*

Tally is a georgeous perlino mare with tippy ears, wide set eyes, with a beautiful neck, great angles on her shoulder and hip, with a short back, and the sweetest personality.

Ive "technically" had Tally for a few ish years but had left her with her prior owner as company for her young horses. Fast forward, I brought Tally home late last summer after a short lease to another friend, and after her weaning a beautiful buckskin stud c**t, pictured with her below.

And yes, the plan is to breed her, Lord willing... 🥰❤️

There is no easy way to say any of this..

The evening of November 30th, we lost Crown Black Velvet. She had a slight blockage being treated and 6 hours into treatment, she went down and we couldnt get her back up. I then noticed manure coming out of her va**na, a worst fear. My vet was on the way but didnt make it. She passed as I was stroking her gorgeous face.

Many of you do not know of my personal life and the extreme losses I have endured, of which I will not share here. You also may not know that my horses mean more to me than most family. I feel like I am continuing to lose family member after family member, over and over, always too soon after just having endured a prior loss; a repetative nightmare with only slight changes.

I have been beyond blessed that God allowed me to own such wonderful, impeccably bred Morgans in my short time breeding.

Unfortunately reality has shown me that I am the place where impeccable bloodlines come to die. I have lost some of the most incredible mares in the breed, several far too soon, in addition to the foals lost, and I cannot help but feel I am the common denomenator.

I am not a breeder who sells my older horses, and choosing to stop doesnt mean Ill be selling any of my horses, but I am, for the moment, done breeding. I have reached out to a few breeder friends and will lease my breedable horses, as I do not want their lines to sit unused. When arrangements have been finalized, I will share who has gone where.

I will likely not respond to comments at this time, I am sorry. Please know it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with heartbreak.
