Crafts with Seniors and Kids! Come join the fun!
Join us at 10:00 Monday morning (for about 1/2 hour) to make the craft of the week for yourself and paint a special part for the seniors to use in their craft! Then, meet us at the Davenport Lutheran Nursing Home on Wednesday at 1:45 (for about 1 hour) to help the seniors make their craft.
There is no charge.
This is a rewarding experience for children, parents and seniors.
It is impossible to walk away from without feeling blessed!

Although I am no longer offering craft classes, I have started a summer program for my children and the senior residents at a longterm care home in Davenport - I call it "Crafts with Seniors and Kids." Because of the great reaction to the program I am opening it up to interested children in the community.

Each week consists of getting together two times. Children are given an opportunity to make the craft of the week for themselves on the Monday sessions. The children will help the seniors make the craft two days later on the Wednesday session.

For those of you that are interested, the next Crafts with Seniors and Kids will be the week of July 25. Kids can make the craft on Monday, July 25th at 10:00. We will help the seniors with the craft at 2:00 on Wednesday, July 27.

Kids of all ages are welcome and their parents are encouraged to join in. For example, my youngest is 5 and my oldest is 12. Children younger and older and in between are perfect for this! There is no cost. The practice is at my house, 5312 Berkshire St. in Bettendorf.

We are making some neat crafts that kids can adapt to their skill level.

I really can't speak enough to how much pleasure this brings the seniors and what sense of value it brings to children.

New this Fall! Story and Craft Time for 2 and 3 Year Olds! Starting in October classes are Thursdays at 9:00. Join your little ones as they hear a story and do a craft. Let your child be creative and leave the mess for us! $8.00/class (class is 45 minutes)
