There was a bit of alchemy in the center on Tuesday night! A new gallery exhibition, the sixth-generation owner of the world-famous C.F. Martin & Company, beautiful-sounding guitars, and nearly 1000 people filled our spaces for a wonderful celebration of visual art, music, and storytelling.

Chris Martin IV and Craig Thatcher had the audience's attention from the start with a story about the Martin guitar Dolly Parton's aunt gifted her as a child. From there, it was a ride through history with the instruments favored by Johnny Cash, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, and more.

It was an extraordinary night that began with the opening reception of LUAG's This Land exhibition for the nation's 250th, and ended with cheers in Baker Hall for a 200-year-old American company.

The class of 2030 officially began its academic year at Lehigh University with convocation in Baker Hall. It's a real treat to see over 1600 students set foot in the arts center for the first time. ❤️
