25 Years Later: We Remember. We Pray.
This morning, St. Michael the Archangel School gathered to mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 with a special ceremony of remembrance, prayer, and faith.
Our students gathered as the American flag was carried through the school and raised to half-staff in honor of the 2,977 lives lost that September morning.
Together, we prayed and released four balloons representing the North Tower, South Tower, Flight 93 in Shanksville, and the Pentagon. Each carried a special prayer intention for the lives lost, the families who still mourn, peace in our world, and the safety of our military, first responders, and peacemakers.
As each balloon rose into the sky, our students were reminded that our prayers rise to God in Heaven.
Twenty-five years later, we continue to teach the next generation to remember the courage, sacrifice, faith, and unity that followed that September morning.
May we never forget. 🇺🇸
