This past Thursday, the wonderful families at Reibman Hall Children's Center organized and provided a fabulous luncheon for our teachers. We are so grateful for you and your kindness throughout teacher appreciation week (cards, gifts, smiles and words of gratitude). We are grateful for you!
Regarding our teachers, your dedication, hard work, knowledge and wisdom about what is best for children is second to none. You are a treasure.
"True teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross; then, having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create their own." - Nikos Kazantzakis.

The Spring Festival for Children and Families was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who joined us this afternoon for an exploration of special music and movement (including the playing of a ukulele), visual arts featuring paint and flowers, a nature scavenger hunt, our annual seed planting activity, an inquiry on how to make a boat and a spring obstacle course. It was so wonderful seeing children, families and teachers interacting with each other on our natural playground!
Thank you so much to our spring Interns for facilitating this event, along with the fabulous Miki, Nancy, and Miss Autumn who added extra activities.
Happy Spring from Reibman Hall Children's Center!

For our final day of Week of the Young Child, we recognize that celebrating families is at the heart of supporting our youngest learners! You are your child's first and most important teacher!
Reibman 128 (younger toddlers) celebrated families with a pancake breakfast.
Reibman 135 (younger preschool) encouraged children to bring something from home for Friendship Friday and some children brought photos of their families.
In Reibman 140 (older preschool), some children recognized their families in daily journal writing. "This is Daddy."

Today's Week of the Young Child theme is "Artsy Thursday." At Reibman Hall Children's Center, every day revolves around the arts! It is the foundation of our mission.
In the Younger Toddler classroom (Reibman 128), the children were asked what they'd like to do with Mr. Bill (our wonderful Artist in Residence) today. The answer was "Make a train...A dinosaur train!" Request granted!

Thank you so much to Dr. Judy Rex, Dean of Health Sciences and Education, who came to visit Reibman Hall Children's Center today. She very kindly brought gifts for all of our wonderful staff and received a special art print created by the younger toddler classroom (Reibman 128). Dr. Rex then read "The Pout-Pout Fish" to the older preschool classroom (Reibman 140) and talked with children about the very special solar eclipse that took place yesterday.
Thank you so much, Dr. Rex for recognizing the importance of young children during Week of the Young Child!
