Northampton Community College Center for College & Career Readiness

The Center for College and Career Readiness is funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education and operated by Northampton Community College. The mission of the Center for College and Career Readiness is to help adults to develop the literacy and numeracy skills necessary to function as family members, workers, community members, and

lifelong learners. We do this by providing accessible, high quality educational programs that include basic literacy and numeracy skills, workplace literacy, information literacy, health literacy, digital literacy, financial literacy, and critical literacy. In the design, implementation, and assessment of our programs, we strive to promote strength-based approaches that value the multiple literacies and diversities of our adult learners. The following services are available to Pennsylvania residents that are 18 years of age or older:

· English as a Second Language
· High School Equivalency Diploma (GED®) Preparation
· English and Math for the Workplace
· College Transition – English and Math

Our programs seek to assist our adult learners to:

· Obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma (GED®)
· Enter Employment
· Retain Employment
· Advance to Post secondary Education/Training
