Our Social Media Marketing students had an incredible field trip to Homewood Suites by Hilton, where they toured the property and learned about hospitality marketing from Director of Sales, Shannon Sostack.
Shannon is not only a leader in the hospitality industry, but also a strong supporter of our program. She serves on the Bridges Foundation, helping support BAVTS seniors, and is a member of our Social Media Marketing Occupational Advisory Committee.
What makes this visit even more special is the connection between Shannon and Ms. Kuehner. Both attended a vocational high school for Marketing and later Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC. They’ve stayed in touch over the years and now work together to help guide and inspire the next generation of marketing professionals through tours, mentorship, and speaking opportunities.
Shannon has even hired one of Ms. Kuehner’s former students, Isiah, for a co-op position. He still works with her today while attending NCCC and continuing to grow in the hospitality field.
To top off the visit, Shannon surprised everyone by announcing that Ellyanna Cooper, a Saucon Valley senior and current SMM student, was selected for the position she recently interviewed for! She will graduate with a career in hospitality already underway.
This is what it’s all about — a true full-circle moment.
Congratulations to Ellyanna, and a huge thank you to Shannon for being such an important part of shaping the next generation.

Students from the Health Careers, Mechatronics, Electronics, Masonry, Carpentry, and Building Trades programs recently visited Pennsylvania College of Technology to explore its academic offerings and learn more about the admissions process.
During the trip, students had the opportunity to tour facilities, meet with faculty, and gain insight into potential career pathways. All participating programs are part of a dual enrollment partnership with Penn College, which allows students to earn college credits during their instructional time at BAVTS.
