NCC East 40 Community Garden

Promoting sustainable agriculture and self-reliance using classes and community gardening.

In support of NCC’s commitment to sustainability, the community garden will serve as an outdoor classroom, growing space, and resource center that:

- provides students with experiential learning, service learning, interdisciplinary curriculum projects, and research opportunities;

- empowers the community to grow their own food (through opportunities such as individual garden plots and community

education);
creates opportunities for partnerships with area schools, food banks and nonprofit organizations;

- promotes environmental and personal well-being; and

- maintains the integrity and health of the land.

You can also visit with the folks from PSECU credit union - peruse our community info table - and drop off donations for NCC's HOPE food pantry for students.

It's a great way to celebrate summer's bounty! (Remember: the bridge on Hecktown Road, between Green Pond and Brodhead Road is closed indefinitely)

Thanks to all who make it a part of their Wednesday to stop by The Farm Market at NCC to !

Take advantage of this opportunity to purchase fresh, locally grown produce and flowers, and to select breads, treats and grab & go that feature locally-sourced ingredients.

You can also stock your shelves with locally-sourced honey, jams, maple syrup, and bulk coffee beans plus select handcrafted personal care items and pottery. Local is definitely the way to go: get items you can trust while supporting our community's economy. Win win!

🍂 Celebrate the first day of fall with us!

Gather around the fire, play yard games, enjoy seasonal food and drinks, and create your own fall leaf photo frame using materials gathered right on site.

**SPECIAL TRAVEL UPDATE**

For our friends who travel to the market via Hecktown Road: Hecktown Road (from Brodhead Road to Drift Court, north of Green Pond Road) will be CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION, effective immediately, to replace the Hecktown Road bridge over Route 22. A detour will be posted to divert traffic using Green Pond Road to Country Club Road to Hecktown Road.

A big treat for this week's The Farm Market at NCC - the students from NCC's culinary program will be cooking up a special menu featuring BBQ meats, tasty sides and luscious desserts!

The meat selections include grilled flatiron steak, chicken fried pork chops, BBQ wings and ribs.

They'll be at the market from 10 am - 1:30 pm; you can eat your selection in the Quad (there are tables available) or take it to go.

We'll be in our usual spot on the Bethlehem Quad from 10-2 (rain or shine), with these other great vendors:
