The Bel Canto Youth Chorus

Auditions will be continuing throughout the month of June for our middle and high school level choirs. However, if you know a young person who loves to sing, perhaps they’d like to join Da Capo (grades 3+) or Bach Buddies (grades K-2). We’d like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Bel Canto member and Choral Scholar of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, Jillian. She will be heading to the University of Pittsburgh in the fall to major in Digital Media and Communications with a Minor in Music Performance. Jillian shares that she “absolutely loved being a Choral Scholar for the Bach Choir this year! Going to rehearsals and learning such challenging music has made me a better musician as well as a better sight reader. I also loved meeting new friends and getting to know people from different walks of life. I highly recommend this experience for anyone else interested and it has been very worth it!!”

We are beyond proud of Bel Canto member, Dominick, who will be heading to the University of Kentucky this fall. During our January Bel Canto Scholarship Recital, an audience member saw Dominick perform. This audience member saw Dominick’s talent and potential and helped him secure an audition at the University of Kentucky. Dominick was offered a scholarship and will be majoring in Vocal Performance this fall.

Dominick will also be traveling to Santa Fe, New Mexico this summer for an immersive program with the National Youth Opera Academy. In addition, he will be recording the role of Cyclops on a NYOA recording of The Odyssey with the London Symphony Orchestra.

What an amazing story - we cannot wait to see what else Dominick will achieve!!!

It's Teacher Appreciation Week and The Bel Canto Youth Chorus is so grateful for the incredible educators of the Lehigh Valley. You inspire our young singers every day! Thank you for the amazing job you do - teachers are truly superheroes!

And with that, the PMEA festival season has come to a close!!! Proud of these 6 - their talent, dedication and love of singing got them here. It was extra special for me to see a friend from college serve as their All-State guest conductor. Dr. Winnie and the All-State choir gave a stunning performance last night! Auditions for next year’s Bel Canto choirs start May 18th!!! 🎶🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥❤️
