Today we welcomed back Renee Blaken to share highlights from her incredible transatlantic rowing journey. Students also enjoyed Living Shores Aquarium’s Wandering Beyond the Waves program. In addition, classroom teachers selected new books to expand their classroom libraries! A special thank you to Renee and CLIF for making this experience possible!

Our 6th grade class is stepping up as elementary school graduates this evening. As they get ready for their transition to Profile, we celebrate them and their accomplishments here at BES! We wish them well as they transition to being middle schoolers.

The 2025-2026 yearbook was dedicated to Ms. Tandy, a 6th grade BES paraprofessional, whom they all love dearly, and their class gift was a monetary donation to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute.

It was a sunshiny day for BES field day! 😎 As tradition, the graduating 6th grade class planned, set up and ran the stations, and they did a fantastic job! The day was filled with team games, upbeat music, an egg toss and so much water fun. 💦

We celebrated our last Monday of the 25-'26 school year with our first day of spirit week. Student government set up a school wide "rock, paper, scissors" competition! Everyone competed within their class and then winners moved into a semifinal and final competition. Champion of the school is fourth grader Noah! 🥇

One of our special teachers, Mrs. Barbara Kunz, was this year's recipient of the "Fritz & Eleanore Kramer Award" for the Advancement of Music Education in the North Country! She was celebrated by The North Country Chamber Players over the weekend and we couldn't be prouder! She is a wonderful music teacher, and she brings so much joy to our students and our school with her love of music! 🎼

The Bethlehem Elementary School PTA will be hosting an after school iced coffee fundraiser in the car pickup line at BES!

Don't want a coffee for yourself? Purchase one for BES's hard working staff! 🥰

When: On Monday June 8th, PTA members and some of our graduating 6th grade students will be set up out front of the school and delivering iced coffee to your car during after school pickup!

How to Order: Please use the link below (or QR code on the flyer) to order your iced coffee just the way you like it! Orders are due by 8am Monday morning and coffee will be ready for delivery at 2pm as cars start to line up for dismissal.

This week, students enjoyed a visit from Marek Bennett, a New Hampshire cartoonist, musician, and educator. Marek shared how he creates graphic novels using his PIE Process. Marek showed students how he brings his graphic novels to life through illustration. He encouraged students to use their imaginations and observations of the world around them as inspiration for their own artwork and stories. The visit ended with a book giveaway, and each student took home two new books. We are grateful to the Children's Literacy Foundation (CLiF) for making this wonderful literacy opportunity possible. Ms. Kami from the town library also shared information about their summer reading program. 📕
