to this year’s Grade 6 capstone farmer’s market. Boys spent months brainstorming, collaborating, and creating to bring the event to life. In just its second year, the project has already become a favorite in the Lower School! We can’t wait to see what the Class of 2033 brings to the market next year.

An incredible summer adventure in Santander, Spain! More than 25 Bears traveled with their teachers to explore and experience the culture firsthand. Boys attended classes, visited must-see sites, and picked up new skills. Being there as Spain captured the World Cup title turned an already memorable trip into an unforgettable one!

Jack Cantlay, Associate Director of Admissions - Upper School, completed his Master’s of Education at UPenn. His research project focused on the experience of boys coming to an all-boys school from co-ed environments and how best to support their transition as new students.

Arielle Markiewicz, P’35, Upper School Counselor, visited Mount Rushmore with husband Brad, and sons Nathan ’35 and Evan.

Ricky Sears ’99, Upper School Art Teacher, connected with his brother Teddy Sears ’95 in Los Angeles.

Paige Potolicchio, Lower School Librarian and Literacy Teacher, and husband Matt Potolicchio ’12 welcomed a baby boy.

David Smith, P’25, ‘29, Upper School English Teacher, hiked to the top of Bondcliff Mountain in White Mountain National Forest with his family.

Grace Morelli, Dean of Student Life, Service and Experiential Programming, and husband Jon Umanzor ’09 took a family trip to Maine.

Beverly Sivaslian, P’19, Upper School Science Teacher, spent time with her family in their “happy place” in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

WT Miller ‘86, Upper School French Teacher, caught up with landonvtennis alumni Jeh-Lei Fan ’25 and Frank Wang ’26 at the Mubadala DC Open .

Alyssa Doherty, Middle School English Teacher, Emily Matthews, Upper School English Teacher, and Jamie Matthews ’04, Middle School Math Teacher, took their sons on a troll-hunting adventure at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor, Maine.

Tom DiChiara, Upper School English Teacher, went on a family adventure to Costa Rica. They zip-lined, went white-water rafting, stand-up paddle-boarding, jet-skiing, snorkeling, horseback riding, and deep-sea fishing.

Meg Klingelhofer, Assistant Athletic Director for Communications, was in the bridal party for a friend’s wedding along with son Kane who served as the ring bearer.

Alexis Kahn, Grade 4 Teacher, and husband David Kahn ’97 dropped their daughter Maddie off at summer camp with Charlie ’35.

Kirsten Petersen, Director of Communications and Marketing, went paddle-boarding with her dogs.

Gordon Reeves, Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist, visited Denver and Boulder, Colorado with his dad David Reeves '76.

Anna Marie Bobart, Upper School Learning Specialist, has been enjoying some downtime with her pup, Bentley.

A fresh look for our 18 ft. Big Bear statue! It recently received some expert care from wood sculptor Kris Connors and crew. They sealed cracks, applied wood preservative, and restored its natural color.

🏆 – Middle School Band and Strings joined forces as a full orchestra and earned first place at Music in the Parks in Hershey, PA. Led by Director of Strings Stephen Czarkowski, boys competed against schools from across the country. To top it off, the orchestra was recognized with the Outstanding Violin Section Award. Bravo, Bears!

Music to our ears! Landon Handbell Ringers traveled to Cincinnati for the Handbell Musicians of America National Seminar. Six students participated in the Distinctly Teen program, rehearsing and performing alongside talented musicians from across the country. They were led by their teacher, Kathryn Jurado, who performed with the boys and shared her expertise at the Alfred Handbell exhibit during the seminar.

We love to see Bears working on their craft and pursuing their passions during the summer!

☀️This summer heat has us reminiscing about one of our favorite Lower School STEM projects. Students turned pizza boxes into solar ovens and used the sun’s rays to make s’mores. Thanks to Mrs. Hughes for such a delicious lesson in energy transformation!
