Tolstoy Preschool FDC #1 Russian language immersion and child development curriculum for children ages 2.5-6 in the DC Area

Tolstoy Preschool FDC offers a Russian language immersion and child development curriculum for children ages 3-5 years that strives to stimulate the development of the whole child -- emotionally, socially, academically, physically and culturally. The school is geared toward two distinct target groups -- children from Russian-speaking families as well as children with little or no exposure to the language or culture. We cater to parents who are seeking a safe, stable, highly-stimulating environment which encourages cognitive and intellectual growth at a critical stage of their child's development. Our school uses 100% language immersion as the method of teaching. It is learned effortlessly through daily play and a creative learning environment. It is based upon the idea that there is no better way to expand a child's capabilities than through the main functions of language.

Learning can be noisy😊
With tyotya Olya and Zaitsev’s cubes, children explore the difference between voiced and voiceless sounds through play and laughter. When children can hear, feel, and experiment with sounds, learning becomes natural and memorable.

Alisa decided to put the girls down for a nap and read them Little Mole the Artist 📖💛
Some are already tucked in and listening, while others are still getting ready for bed. Such a sweet little moment of care and friendship 😊

Creative, energetic, caring, and always full of ideas - that’s our Tyotya Lena! 💛
During theater class, she is expressive and wonderfully playful. She creates funny characters, invents imaginative scenes, and makes the children laugh while helping them feel confident performing in front of others. 🎭
During yoga, the atmosphere changes. Tyotya Lena helps the children slow down, breathe, stretch, and relax after an active day. 🧘‍♀️
From joyful performances to peaceful moments, she brings warmth and positive energy to every class - and, of course, hugs! 🤗

🎶 One, two, three, four, five…
But how do we make five? Two and three? Four and one? 🖐️
Our little learners are practicing counting and discovering how numbers can be put together and taken apart.

Friendship in preschool is not only about the bonds children build with one another. It is also about the special connection they share with their teachers — running together, playing tag, sharing hugs, and simply enjoying time together.
These little moments of trust, joy, and affection often become some of the warmest childhood memories. ❤️

Welcome to Marianna Marianskaya’s Dog Training Show! 🐶🎪
Today, the children became talented puppies and dog trainers. Our “puppies” learned to count, bark according to the number of fingers shown, and even jump through a hoop!
Everyone had so much fun playing their part!🐾👏
