On May 14-15, more than 1,500 leaders, Fellows, Alumni, employer partners, entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, and changemakers came together for the largest gathering in MLT’s history to celebrate 20 years of impact and help shape what comes next.
Over two unforgettable days, our community reflected on how far we’ve come, explored the opportunities and challenges ahead, and recommitted to a shared vision of expanding economic mobility and leadership opportunity for all.
✨ “MLT didn’t just open the doors, it changed the way I walked through those doors.”
That’s the power of community. The power of leadership. The power of investing in talent over the long term.
And as MLT Founder and CEO, John Rice reminded us:
🌀 “If you’re here, you’re part of the solution.”
Thank you to every Fellow, Alum, coach, sponsor, partner, speaker, and supporter who helped make possible. The momentum is real, and we’re just getting started.

The energy of MLT20 doesn’t have to end with the conference 💙
Over two unforgettable days in New York City, thousands of Fellows, Alumni, coaches, partners, sponsors, and supporters came together around a shared challenge: How will you lead the way?
Until now, that invitation was reserved for those in the room.
Today, we’re opening it to our entire community.

For a limited time, complete our Lead The Way form to let us know how you’d like to engage with MLT’s mission. You’ll also receive exclusive access to the MLT20 photo gallery featuring some of our favorite moments from the conference.

Congratulations to those selected for the Program 🏀✨
Last week, Fellows gathered at the NBA offices in New York City for kickoff as they prepare to begin an incredible summer experience across NBA teams and the league office.
Out of more than 10,000 applicants, just 70 students were selected for this year’s cohort.
Throughout the fellowship, participants will gain hands-on experience across departments including marketing, corporate partnerships, legal, social responsibility, ticket sales, and more — building skills, expanding networks, and exploring pathways to leadership in sports and business.
We are proud to see these talented Fellows represent the future of leadership.
Join us in congratulating the 2026 NBA HBCU Fellows! 👏🏾💙

Here’s to the next era of impact.
At MLT20, we celebrated two decades of impact, but the conference also gave us a chance to reflect on what it takes to build an institution that lasts 💫
For 20 years, MLT has expanded opportunity, accelerated careers, and helped thousands of leaders unlock their potential. That impact exists because of a community of Fellows, Alumni, partners, sponsors, philanthropists, coaches, and staff who have continued to invest in the mission year after year.
It also exists because of leadership willing to carry the vision forward long before success was guaranteed.
As we look toward MLT’s next chapter, the question isn’t simply how far we’ve come. It’s how we continue building on this foundation for the leaders who will follow 💙
