At the end of May, our Pre-K students spread their wings for a special last day of school featuring their very own Prize Day and spring project celebration! Our young Gators proudly shared everything they learned about our favorite feathered friends—birds. From the nests they build and the foods they eat to their colorful feathers and cheerful songs, students in Mrs. Gillick's and Ms. Carpenter’s class had plenty to share.
Families and friends gathered to hear our students tweet about their discoveries and celebrate a year filled with growth, curiosity, and learning. As they flock toward their next adventure, we couldn't be prouder of all they have accomplished, and we are excited to watch these young learners continue to soar! 🦜🦩🦆

With grateful hearts, we celebrated our Class of 2034 as they completed their Lower School journey. Joined by their families for a special Mass, our Grade 4 students were commissioned to go forth into Middle School, carrying with them the values, spirit, and love of the Sacred Heart. Congratulations to our students on this meaningful milestone—we can't wait to see all that lies ahead!

Today, Stone Ridge honors Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and invites us to reflect, remember, and continue the work of justice.
As a Sacred Heart community, we are called to educate to a social awareness which impels to action. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom must be protected, dignity must be upheld, and our commitment to equity and belonging must be lived each day.
May this day inspire reflection, learning, and renewed dedication to building a more just and compassionate world.

AP Chemistry students wrapped up the year with their final titration lab! 🥽🧪 Using phenolphthalein as an indicator, students titrated vinegar (acetic acid) with ammonia while applying the principles of precision, accuracy, and reproducibility. A pale pink color signaled the endpoint of the reaction—and another successful demonstration of the laboratory skills they have developed throughout the year.

This spring, our Grade 2 Gators planted the seeds of discovery through an in-depth study of community gardens as part of their project work. 🌱🌼🐝 In Mrs. Sheldon’s class, students explored how tiny seeds grow into herbs, fruits, vegetables, and flowers, while learning about the important role pollinators play in helping gardens flourish. Along the way, they dug into the science of photosynthesis, investigated garden food chains, mixed their own Herbs de Provence, and got their hands dirty helping care for the garden.
Students also watched caterpillars transform into butterflies and planted their own flowers, nurturing them from seed to bloom in the Stone Ridge greenhouse—observing firsthand how patience, care, and the right conditions help living things grow.
From roots to blossoms, this project cultivated curiosity, stewardship, and a deeper appreciation for the interconnected life of a community garden.

We are still reflecting on the many beautiful moments from our Grade 8 Mother-Daughter Mass. This special tradition honored our Class of 2030 students as they complete their Middle School journey and begin an exciting new chapter in Upper School.
During the Mass, students and their mothers or mother-figures shared heartfelt letters, creating meaningful memories and celebrating the bonds that have supported them along the way. Following the service, attendees enjoyed a light reception to mark this important milestone and celebrate the remarkable young women of the Class of 2030.

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Sacred Heart. When Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat founded her Society in 1800, she chose to consecrate it to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, bringing glory to the eternal and ardent love of Jesus.
As we celebrate this feast today, we ask for Sophie’s guidance. May we carry on her mission to discover and reveal the love of Christ’s heart to the world.

Last Wednesday, we celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of our students during Prize Day ceremonies across the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. A cherished Sacred Heart tradition, Prize Day marks the close of the academic year while recognizing the achievements, growth, and character of students as they live out the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria at Stone Ridge.
This year’s ceremonies were a beautiful reminder of just how extraordinary this community is. Congratulations to all of our students for a year of learning, leadership, and excellence. We are so proud of you! 🎉✨
