Tutor Highlight: Susan "Susie" Dykeman

ACT and SAT test strategies tutor, Susan Dykeman is a graduate of the Sidwell Friends School. She earned a B.A. in Literature, cm laude, from Yale University and studied Biology and Ecology at UCLA after graduation. She earned a California Teaching Certificate in Secondary Science, and taught Biology and Ecology for three years in the Los Angeles school system. Since returning to the DC area, Ms. Dykeman has tutored at PrepMatters for over a dozen years and picked up a Masters in Acupuncture and a certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine along the way. She now splits her time between her two great passions: teaching and Chinese medicine. “While these two endeavors may seem quite different at first glance, they actually share much in common. Both involve bringing considerable skill and attention to bear on areas of great personal concern for clients.”

Tutor Highlight: Sunhee Hong

From the DC area, Sunhee brings a wide range of experience tutoring on how to prep for the ACT and SAT standardized tests. Throughout high school and college, Sunhee worked with children and teenagers: tutoring inner city children in college and working as a counselor at an overnight camp for disadvantaged youths (the Washington Post and NBC Channel 4 publicized DC Camp 4 Kids). Sunhee returned to the metro area after receiving his BA in Political Science from University of Pittsburgh. In addition to test preparation, his professional experience tutoring includes instructing math through calculus, physics, biology, US history, and world and European history. Future plans likely involve a law degree or graduate work in international relations.
