This week, we formally dedicated the tree planted in honor of our beloved teacher, Donna Collins. For more than 31 years, Donna led the music program at Bannockburn Nursery School, serving as an educator, mentor, camp teacher/director, and a steady source of joy for generations of children and families.

The tree, located just outside the front playground at the Bannockburn Community Clubhouse. now carries a beautiful plaque celebrating her legacy. Even more special, Donna was joined by three generations of BNS teachers in her own family, all of whom continue to shape our community in amazing ways.

We were thrilled to celebrate with Donna and Dennis Collins; Claire Hearle, our Saplings Lead Teacher; and Colin and Carleigh Hearle, BNS alums and longtime counselors and volunteers. Their family embodies the heart of BNS: love, community, and a deep commitment to early childhood education.

We are so grateful to Donna and her entire family for the lasting impact they’ve made on our school!

What a spooktacular day we've had at our Halloween celebration! Our little pirates, astronauts, bats, and pumpkins had a blast with a day full of fun activities! From creating festive decorations to enjoying special snacks, the children had an amazing time. Of course, the highlight of the day was our adorable Halloween Scene costume parade. Everyone looked so creative, and we loved sharing the Halloween spirit with the BNS families. Thanks to everyone for making Halloween 2025 one to remember!

Bannockburn Nursery School Acorns Music Class for Children Ages 0-2 & Their Caregivers Begins Thursday, Sept. 18

BNS is excited to resume its Acorns Music Class this Thursday, Sept. 18. Children ages 0-2 and their caregivers are welcome on Thursday mornings from 9:45-10:15 am for our weekly Acorns Music Class ($18/class on a drop-in basis). During this program, children and their grown-ups will explore song, rhythm/movement, and one another while meeting other area children and families.

Registration is now open for Bannockburn Nursery School's 2025-2026 school year! Our one-of-a-kind early childhood program has been providing quality preschool education since 1950. At BNS, we believe in the value of learning through play while nurturing each child's individual developmental needs.

In addition, throughout this current school year, children ages 0-2 and their caregivers are welcome on Thursday mornings from 9:45-10:15am for our weekly ongoing Acorns Music Class ($17/class on drop-in basis). During this program, children and their grown-ups will explore song, rhythm/movement, and one another while meeting other area children and families.
