Throwback to the time when our 6th-graders learned the process of honey extraction hands-on and on-site. They had the opportunity to uncap the wax frames, spin the honey in the extractor, and handle every step to harvest pure honey like the pros they are. 🐝🍯

Thank you to Mr. Roux for leading this workshop and showing our Mousquetaires one of the many ways we can protect the biodiversity of our planet. 🌎

And thank you Malak Khalfi for creating and sharing this video with us!

☀️🌎 Rochambeau Summer Camp has been full of "wow" moments!

Every week at our French immersion summer camp has a new theme. Campers have explored the worlds of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Marie Curie, and Jacques Cousteau through cooking, crafts, hands-on activities, and a field trip to the Maryland Science Center, immersing in their wisdom through fun adventures.

This week, in the spirit of the World Cup (congratulations Spain!) ⚽, campers are celebrating cultures from around the world while learning about French soccer stars like Zidane and Mbappé.

No boring moments here; just learning, exploring, and having fun! ✨

On June 4, 2026, SIA English 8th graders celebrated the opening of their exhibit, Footsteps Toward Freedom: Honoring Local Lives, at the Josiah Henson Museum. Through original artwork and a student-created website, they honored individuals whose stories have too often been forgotten, people who once lived and walked in our local community.
We are especially proud that this exhibit will become part of the museum’s permanent collection and will be on display through September 2026.

When we think of the end of the school year, elementary school concerts are some of our favorite memories. 🎶

Whether singing about food, celebrating 70 years of our school through iconic songs, or bringing poetry to life on stage, our CP, CE1, and CM1 students filled Maplewood with humor, giggles, and the cutest dance moves in the past two weeks. 🎼🎤💓🎵

Thank you, Rose Vilcocq, for always inspiring, cultivating, and nurturing talent at Rochambeau. 💙💛
