π Welcome Our Summer Intern: Brandon Sereno π
At Period Zero, we believe workforce development doesn't begin when someone enters the workforce. It begins long before that through experiences, mentorship, leadership, and opportunities to learn by doing.
That's why we're excited to welcome Brandon Sereno to the Period Zero team as our Financial Systems Intern this summer!
Brandon is a student at Washington & Jefferson College, where he balances academics, athletics, and his professional goals. As a member of the W&J wrestling team, he understands the value of discipline, perseverance, and continuous growth both on and off the mat.
Throughout the summer, Brandon will support Period Zero's financial systems and organizational operations while gaining hands-on experience within a growing nonprofit. His work will help strengthen the systems behind the scenes that allow us to continue creating opportunities for students throughout our community.
When asked what excites him most about this opportunity, Brandon shared:
"I am most excited to get experience working with a nonprofit organization. My father has been working on starting a nonprofit, so the experience I gain from this opportunity will greatly benefit me in the future and help me reach my own goals."
Brandon plans to pursue a career in accounting and finance and hopes to earn his CPA certification after graduation. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors and walking his golden retriever.
We're excited to have Brandon on the team and look forward to seeing the impact he makes this summer as he develops new skills and experiences through Period Zero.
Please join us in welcoming Brandon to the team! π
β¨ Stay tuned! Next up, we'll begin celebrating Graduation Season at Period Zero and introducing the incredible student leaders who are helping build the workforce of tomorrow.

π¨ What happens when creativity meets opportunity?
On June 10, Teen Networking Nights kicks off our Summer Series: The Creative Workforce with a session led by WL April from Splat: A Make & Take Art Studio and Opal Devlin of Ichigo and Ivy.
Opal started her own business as a student entrepreneur and recently showcased her work at the Young Entrepreneur Fair. Now she's sharing her story with other teens and showing how creativity, confidence, and a simple idea can turn into something bigger.
During this hands-on session, students will:
β
Design their own personal logo artwork on canvas
β
Explore creativity, branding, and self-expression
β
Learn how entrepreneurs turn ideas into opportunities
β
Connect with other teens in a supportive, real-world learning environment
At Period Zero, we believe that every career starts with an idea, a connection, and the courage to try something new.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
At Period Zero, we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy because of the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our military heroes and their families. Their legacy reminds us of the importance of service, community, and giving back.
As Memorial Day comes to a close, we encourage our community to continue supporting those who have served. On Saturday, June 6, our friends at VFW Post 764 will host the V.E.T.S. Care Charity Fest benefiting organizations that provide critical support to veterans and their families.
And while you're out supporting a great cause, stop by our first Food Truck Fundraiser Series event Bethel Beer and More with Meet and Cheese. Every event helps support Period Zero's youth workforce and leadership programs while bringing our community together.
Thank you to all who served, all who sacrificed, and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward. πΊπΈ
