Bethany College will hold their Sixth Annual Light Up Night and Charity Christmas Tree Auction Thursday, Dec. 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Commencement Hall. The evening will begin with the official lighting of the tree, and a charity tree and wreath auction will follow.

Our Christmas tree and all others were a success at tonight's Light Up Night. Here is SAA president Cecilia with the winning bidder, Heather. Over $2,700 was raised for a local charity, Bernie's Kids.

ALLISON AWARD SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY
The Alumni Council and Alumni Office have announced this year’s theme for the Allison Award. Any upperclassman with a cumulative 2.85 GPA and enrolling for the spring semester is encouraged to enter their 500-1000 word essay relating to the theme, “Bethany in the next 175 years”. Bethany is celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2015. From Bethany’s founding under Alexander Campbell to now, where do you see Bethany going in the next 175 years?

The Allison Award is presented in memory of the late Jim Allison ‘62. The award is provided by money raised through the Allison’s Run. The Allison's Run, a recreational, non-competitive event, has been held every year since 2001 to celebrate the life of Allison, former Professor of Mathematics at Bethany and a deeply valued member of the Ohio Valley community. All essay submissions need to be received by the alumni office by Friday, Nov. 20. Essays will be reviewed by the engagement committee of the alumni council and two winners will be announced. First place prize includes a $1,000 one-time scholarship, and second place is a $500 one-time scholarship. All essays and questions can be submitted to Ashley Kanotz at [email protected].

On Friday, October 23 the SAA held a paint n sip. The scene was of Old Main in the fall. Over $50 was raised by the SAA event. Even Boomer joined in on the fun!

The "HOME" shirts are in! Students can pick theirs up on Thursday from noon-1 p.m. All others can pick theirs up at the Alumni Tent on Saturday from 11:30-halftime of the football game.
