Today was such a fun day in 4th grade! We practiced math in shaving cream this morning and had so much fun learning in a hands-on way. Afterwards, my students visited the 3rd grade classrooms to share advice and encouragement about what to expect in 4th grade. I was so proud of how kind, confident, and helpful they were with the younger students. These kids are growing up so fast! 💜📚✏️

✨ A Star-Spangled Success! ✨

Our 4th Grade Music Concert was an absolute triumph! To celebrate the 250th Birthday of America, our students took the stage with incredible energy, talent, and patriotic pride. 🇺🇸🎶

From the very first note to the final bow, these young performers showed us exactly what it means to be a community. It was the perfect way to honor such a historic milestone for our country!

A huge thank you to:
• The Students: For all your hard work and beautiful voices.
• The Families: For your constant support and for filling the stands.
• Mrs. Kunce: For helping coordinate such a memorable evening.

We are so proud of our 4th graders for making this milestone celebration one we won't soon forget! 💜🤍

Stop everything! 🛑

The textbooks are officially outdated. Today in class, we dove into some shocking new research from NASA. It turns out everything we thought we knew about our "globe" was wrong. 🤯 🌍 ➡️ 🍕

We are currently looking for a creative way to recycle our old, useless globes. Anyone have a spare room the size of Rhode Island? 🗺️

🎢 Roller Coaster Science in 4th Grade! 🎢

Today we explored: What makes roller coasters go so fast?

Our 4th graders investigated how energy works! We learned that when a coaster is pulled up the first big hill, it builds potential energy. As it zooms down, that energy changes into kinetic energy (energy of motion) — and that’s what makes it go so fast!

Students designed and tested their own mini roller coasters while observing how height affects speed. They made predictions, recorded observations, and explained their thinking — all aligned with Missouri 4th grade science standards on force and motion.

Hands-on learning + critical thinking = SO much fun! 🎢💜

We had so much fun sharing our realistic fiction stories with Mrs. Osborne’s class yesterday! 📚✨

Our students worked so hard on creating believable characters, real-life problems, and meaningful solutions. They practiced reading with expression, confidence, and clear voices — and it showed!

We are so proud of the growth, creativity, and courage it took to share their writing with another class. Great job, authors! 📝💜

Winn-Dixie Day was one for the books 🐶💛

Pickles ✔️
Gloria Dump Punch ✔️
Peanut Butter Bread (cut into triangles, of course) ✔️
Litmus Lozenges ✔️
The movie to top it off ✔️

“Everyone gets a little lonely sometimes.”
“You can’t always judge people by the things they done.”
“There’s something about a story that makes people willing to listen.”

We laughed, we may have teared up a little, and we definitely ate like Opal herself planned the menu. 💛

Huge Shoutout to Mrs. Miranda for the Pickles 🥒 and Homemade Bread 🍞
