Bethany's Own Marching Band director and BHS Teacher of the Year, Steve Sharp has been nominated for the Manilow Music Teacher Award!!
This Award recognizes an outstanding music teacher who helps to bring music to life for his or her students. The top vote recipient in each city will receive $10,000 -- a $5,000 cash prize and a $5,000 Manilow Bucks credit that can be used to purchase instruments for their classroom. A peek into the wonderful Veterans Day assembly yesterday.
Thank you to our Mayor and City Council members, American Legion members, Admin, Mr. Coulson, Mr. Sharp, the band, Boys State group, and all involved in preparing and presenting.
And a very heartfelt thank you to all our veterans and their families for your service. A special recognition to our veterans on staff, Mr. Drummond, Mr. Sharp, and Mr. Coulson. We are grateful for you today and every day.

Also, reminder for seniors and their families: all senior photos, baby photos, and senior salute ads are due by Thanksgiving. Please email your images to [email protected].

We’re so excited to welcome Dr. Bellows in his new role as superintendent of Bethany Public Schools. We’re looking forward to a great year!
Dear Bethany Broncho family,
We wanted you to be the first to know some exciting news about our district. During Tuesday morning's board meeting, we, members of the Bethany Board of Education, approved the hiring of Dr. Reuben Bellows as the next superintendent of our great school system.
Dr. Bellows first joined our district in 2014 as the principal of Earl Harris Elementary School. He has worked tirelessly to ensure the success of our elementary students, earning the OETT Technology Grant in 2019 and managing a bond project for a STEM building and learning center.
In 2017, Earl Harris Elementary was named a National Blue Ribbon School, recognizing the academic success of our elementary students, teachers, and staff.
During his 21-year career as an educator, Dr. Bellows has proved that he is an education professional dedicated to creating a positive learning environment for students and a welcoming, collaborative culture for his staff. We believe that with his guidance and leadership Bethany Public Schools will continue to grow and expand opportunities for students and staff, enhance partnerships with the community and continue its path of excellence.
With help from the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA), the board selected Dr. Bellows from a competitive pool of candidates. OSSBA has helped facilitate superintendent searches across the state, working with other school board associations throughout the country to ensure a competitive applicant pool.
Thank you to the parents, staff, and community members who participated in the superintendent search survey. Your responses were incredibly valuable as we navigated the search process and narrowed down candidates to a professional who values our district and community and who will help our district continue to grow and provide new, exciting opportunities for our students.
