Today we celebrate School Nurse Day and recognize the amazing individuals who care for the health and well-being of our scholars each and every day.

Our school nurses are more than medical professionals — they are a comforting presence, a listening ear, and a trusted source of care for students and staff alike. From everyday bumps and bruises to moments that require urgent attention, they serve our school community with compassion, patience, and dedication.

Beyond the nurse’s office, our nurse builds relationships that help students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Her impact reaches far beyond bandages and check-ups, and we are so thankful for the difference they make every single day.

Western Oaks Middle School is hosting a Spring Football Camp for students interested in playing during the 2026–2027 school year!

📍 Open to current 5th–7th grade students

Incoming 6th graders (current 5th graders), be sure to arrive by 3:15 PM!

This is a great opportunity to build skills, learn the game, and connect with coaches and teammates—no sports physical required to participate.

Our 7th grade students had a great visit from GEAR UP the METRO!

Students were introduced to this amazing program that helps prepare them for future success—whether that’s college, career, or beyond. From exploring opportunities to building skills for the future, GEAR UP is here to support them every step of the way.

We’re excited for our students to begin this journey and start thinking about all the possibilities ahead!

One of our favorite pastimes is dodgeball—and today did not disappoint! 🏐🔥

Students came ready to play, throw, dodge, and weave their way to victory. The competition was fierce, the energy was high, and the smiles said it all. From quick reflexes to teamwork, everyone brought their A-game!

Moments like these remind us that learning happens everywhere—even on the court. 💪🎉

Our art classroom recently transformed into a full-on creative studio with a fun and unique “fake cake” project! 🎨🍰

Using joint compound and a variety of tools, students designed and built their own sculptural cakes from scratch. Along the way, they explored color theory by mixing custom shades for realistic frosting, experimented with texture to mimic icing techniques, and practiced 3D construction to bring their designs to life.

We love seeing our students’ creativity shine—no baking required! 💜✨
