The Surreybrook School is fully licensed by the State of Connecticut, providing a program that is carefully designed in a developmentally appropriate environment which provides children with a balance of rhythm, structure, and freedom. Our early childhood curriculum encourages the development of critical thinking skills in an environment of kindness, tolerance, cooperation and acceptance. The over

all theme of our program is outdoor exploration in our Nature's Classroom including water, garden, sun, sand and more, but we will also explore specific topics as they arise during the school year. Our varied and enriching curriculum includes Spanish, Art, Science, Music, Theater, Yoga, Dance, and more.

What a productive, amazing, and inspiring week so far. It’s been so wonderful watching our team work together in Nature’s Classroom making improvements, adding new things to our centers, and creating even more special spaces for the children to explore and learn.

This was such an important week for us, and we are so proud of our amazing team and all the love, creativity, and hard work they put into our magical school🩷

We were so lucky this week to welcome two of our Surreybrook alumni back to read a few stories to our Pre-K and TK friends!

It’s always such a joy to see how much our alumni have grown. Watching them return and share their love of reading with our younger friends makes our hearts so happy!

Children are never too young to appreciate art! 🎨 Exposing them to art is not only fun, but it also supports their development in so many ways from strengthening gross motor skills as they learn to use a paintbrush, to discovering new colors and encouraging creativity and self-expression. Every little brushstroke is an opportunity to learn, explore, and create!

Dramatic play is so much more than dress-up—it's an important part of early childhood learning. As children step into the roles of community helpers, they develop creativity, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, empathy, and confidence.
