Work Hard, Play Hard – Come Dance with Us!

Westhills Elementary parents, Board Member Margie Varner is kicking off her “Work Hard Play Hard” Series, and you're invited!

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 am, line dance instructor Luther Jarman will get us moving and grooving as we kick off the school year together.

Come hang out with Superintendent Turner, Principal Walker, and Mrs. Varner as we slide into a year of perfect attendance, growth, and success.

We’re excited to announce that Bessemer City Schools will once again participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) this school year! 🎉

Through this program, our students will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as healthy snacks during the school day. The FFVP not only encourages healthier eating habits but also introduces students to new produce they may not have tried before.

We’re proud to provide our students with the fuel they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you for supporting student health and wellness across our schools! 💛

What a great night at Westhills! Thank you to all our amazing families who came out for Meet the Teacher Night. The energy was incredible, and we loved seeing so many smiling faces ready for an amazing school year. A big shoutout to our special guest, Westley the Cub, for stopping by to bring the ROAR!
