Good news! Project 88 Music Academy is hiring new faculty members! Please read into the details below.

From Executive and Artistic Director (& CCPA alum!) Élider DiPaula: Project 88 Music Academy is a nonprofit [501(c)(3)] organization that aims to make high-quality music education accessible to all students. Our students currently participate in one of two programs: Preparatory Program (introductory music classes) and Apprentice Program (private lessons, group classes, and Composition classes). Read more detailed descriptions about our programs at www.project88musicacademy.org

The Academy is expanding and we are looking to add more teachers, specifically for our Apprentice Program to teach either piano, violin, brass, and/or composition (including theory concepts) through private lessons and larger group classes. Teachers are expected to teach lessons in-person (following safety protocols) at our facility at 6720 31st Street, Berwyn, IL 60402. Pay rate is $40/instructional hour.
Interested candidates should forward their resume to [email protected] with a note conveying what they are able to teach.
There's still time to register and enjoy Lakeshore Brass at Concordia Church this Saturday, or with Project 88 this Sunday! Happening tomorrow! Both a and :

Pianist, composer, teacher, Executive/Artistic Director of Project 88, and CCPA alum Élider DiPaula (PD Piano Performance) will have his song cycle "Songs From Another Time" debuted tomorrow evening, 12/11, by fellow alum and baritone Justin Horvath-Adair (BM Voice Performance) and faculty member Dana Brown (Associate Professor of Opera & Vocal Coaching)! The concert will feature other classical, musical theatre, and contemporary works. There are still seats available you can register for, or the performance will be livestreamed with a repeat on Sunday, 12/12. 💚💚💚
NOVEMBER 13 CONCERT CHANGE!
Due to illness, The Project Chamber Orchestra will not be performing this Saturday night.

BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Project 88 will still have live music this Saturday evening!

The Gill-Han-Gonzalez Trio will take the stage and share their various combinations of violin, cello, and piano with the Project 88 audience.

First, we will embark on the journey from Debussy's Sonata for Cello and Piano in a modern-day commedia dell'arte version of "Pierrot is angry at the moon" to Beethoven's fourth cello sonata, composed during the time when his deafness was overwhelmingly profound. Followed by Ravel's dedication to the memory of Debussy, where the "music is stripped to the bone," we'll experience the Sonata for Violin and Cello. Finally, in celebration of Astor Piazzolla's 100th birthday, we welcome the season of 'Winter' with the second piece from his Estaciones Porteñas for piano trio.

If you have already reserved tickets on Eventbrite, your tickets are still valid.

If you have not yet reserved tickets, you can still do so at www.project88musicacademy.org/concert-tickets or by visiting Project 88 Music Academy on Eventbrite.

If you prefer to watch from home, the performance will be rebroadcast on Sunday, November 14th at 2pm on our website, www.project88musicacademy.org/concert-series/watch-now.
Tomorrow (11/14) CCPA's David Schrader, Professor of Music History, will present a program on harpsichord and clavichord, both teaching and performing on these instruments in Project 88 's final installment of "Into the Music World." Tune in at 6:30pm Central!!
Under the artistic direction of Chicago College of Performing Arts alum Élider DiPaula (PD Piano Performance, ’19), the nonprofit Project 88 presents free classical concerts and teaches students at its music academy. Be sure to follow Project 88 to keep up to date on their 2020 season!

Chicago College of Performing Arts has close ties to Project 88, and we're pleased to see some of our Brass Alumni back in action, including David Nakazono (trumpet), Bradley Geneser (tuba), and Matt Flanagan (trombone)! Don't miss the next Project 88 livestream concert featuring Slavic composers on August 29 at 6:30pm!

Listen live at: https://www.project88berwyn.org/

Élider DiPaula (PD ‘19 Piano Performance) was a 2019 recipient of the Chicago College of Performing Arts Center for Arts Leadership Performing Social Justice Seed Grant for his Project 88 Music Academy based in Berwyn, Illinois. Recently awarded the 2020 Alumni Social Justice Award from Roosevelt University, the Center will be hosting a talk back with Élider to discuss his process in creating and running Project 88, how it has grown, and answer questions from students!

LIMITED TIME!
Rewatch the Project 88 Faculty Recital until Sunday, October 23!

This past Saturday, 🎻 Kina Ono and 🎹 Élider DiPaula performed a beautiful selection of pieces that spanned the globe from Europe to Mexico to Brazil and ending in Argentina.

During the first half, the audience heard Nocturne by Lili Boulanger,
Danzas Españolas OP. 37, NO. 5: “Andaluza” by Enrique Granados,
Flor da Noite by Radamés Gnattali,
Vocalise-Étude En Forme De Habanera by Maurice Ravel,
and Estrellita by Manuel Ponce.

Czárdás by Vittorio Monti closed the first half of the performance. The Monti piece was inspired by the Hungarian folk dances once performed in the farming villages' inns and taverns. Kina and Élider brought the music to life and the audience to their feet.

After intermission, the program resumed with Primeira Sonata-Fantasia: “Desesperança” by composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, who is considered by many to be Brazil’s foremost composer.

The final piece was Histoire Du Tango by Astor Piazzolla. One of Piazzolla’s most beloved works, the piece presents a four-part musical history of the tango’s evolution.

Don’t miss it!
The video of this amazing concert will be available to the public until Sunday, October 23rd at 10:00 P.M.
