It is with profound gratitude and excitement that I share this news: Larimer County Ballot Measure 1B has passed with just over 51% of the vote in our favor. This is a truly historic milestone for our children, families, and early childhood educators in our community. While election results won’t be final until after November 26th, we feel confident in this victory!
​
For years, we’ve worked together to build awareness, strengthen partnerships, and imagine a future where every child in Larimer County has access to high-quality, affordable care and early learning. Now, that future is within reach. With the passage of 1B, our community has chosen to invest in what matters most- our kids, our educators, and the working families who form the foundation of a thriving local economy.

Beginning January 1, 2026, a modest 0.25% county-wide sales and use tax will generate approximately $28 million each year to expand access, affordability, and quality in early childhood education. These funds will support families through universal sliding-scale tuition assistance, help programs recruit and retain talented educators, and strengthen the environments where our youngest learners grow and thrive.

This victory is both personal and profound. After years of planning and partnership, 2026 marks an exciting new chapter for our community, one in which all Northern Colorado kids thrive. We’re ready to bring this long-term vision to life and turn new resources into real opportunities for children, families, and the educators who make it all possible.

While it will take time for funds to begin reaching programs and families, the energy and optimism of this moment signal what’s ahead. In the months to come, ECCLC will continue working closely with Larimer County, United Way of Larimer County, and our community partners to ensure this measure is implemented thoughtfully, equitably, and with the transparency our community expects.

To every supporter, teacher, parent, partner, and advocate who shared their story, volunteered their time, or cast a vote for Larimer’s future — thank you. This moment belongs to all of us. Together, we’ve taken a transformative step toward a stronger, more vibrant Larimer County for generations to come.

Hello to everyone. Happy fall.

An update from our rummage sale. What a fun day. We were able to meet so many of the Berthoud community. There was even some interest in enrollment. Miss Alecia took the time to do a hour tour of the facility. The amount of donations were abundant and we extended the sale and made enough for all classes to spend $100 on what their needs were.
A BIG thank you to those that donated and to those who helped set up, manage the sale, and tear down. Some asked if we did this every year. That's a thought to ponder.

We are almost at full capacity. Thanks for your patience while we reorganize staff to accommodate class sizes.

We are gearing up for this year's rating and conferences are scheduled.

Halloween is on it's way as well.
We will not be decorating doors this year due to teacher workload. Next year we will revisit the idea of doing it again.

We are always delighted to be a part of your child's journey.

We have spots for infant, toddler, and pre school age children in the Berthoud, CO area. We have been providing quality care for 21 years in a
"at home-like environment". We are open from 5:30am to 6:00pm M-F. Come check us out. Ask about the UPK program.

This week in preschool we are learning how to take care of animals. This beautiful cage was donated, however, we pitched in and gave something for it. The kiddos will be working on feeding and cleaning for a few weeks.

We have also offered Tippie Toes for 3 weeks to all age groups.
The introduction period has ended and is now offered to families for $70 a month on the RD premises, once a week.
We have some interested families. Inquire with your teacher or the director if you want to learn more.
