Leona is a veteran NextGen student. The last two years, she’s been a huge part of our photography and social media teams for the NextGen Marketing class. We’re definitely going to miss her next year!

What happens when you give students a real business challenge? 🤔

At Bertha-Hewitt, students are currently competing in the NextGen Product Challenge — and the goal isn’t just to make something… it’s to make a profit. 💰

Teams made up of Marketing, Office, and Shop students are acting as their own startup companies. They must design a product, pitch it to “Sharks,” calculate costs, set pricing, and produce items to sell to real customers. 🛠️📈

The twist? They’re competing for the highest profit margin.

That means every decision matters - from materials and production to pricing and marketing.

After getting feedback from the 'Sharks," teams will produce 5 of their products and sell them at the Hoppin' Out of Hibernation Arts and Craft Fair on April 4. 🛍️

The team with the highest verified net profit will be crowned NextGen Champions. 🏆

If you're attending the craft fair, stop by the NextGen booth and see what these student entrepreneurs have created!
