Congratulations to Braxton P and Lilly O. for their Pawsitive Behavior referrals! Braxton completed a challenging assignment according to Mrs. Harp. Lilly worked hard on her Math benchmark not giving up until in was finished. Mrs. McCarty is super proud of Lilly's dedication to her studies.

"This week, PE classes finished up their first Sport Education unit of the year -- Pickleball! Teams competed in a round robin regular season followed by a single elimination tournament. Congratulations to all of the champions!"

On Wednesday and Thursday, students participated in our Fun Run/Walk earning points for their Cougar Cup team.
Fun Run Results:
Mountain Lions: 637 laps
Ghost Cats: 550 laps
Shadow Cats: 629 laps

Each student earned 1 point for their Cougar Cup team for each lap they did.

Total Laps as a school: 1,816 laps
454 miles -- we averaged over a mile per student

Bonus Points:
Rowan G. earned 50 points for the Mountain Lions for running more than Ms. Smith during 8th Grade. (Ms. Smith 10 laps, Rowan 11 laps)
Peter N. earned 50 points for the Ghost Cats for running the most laps (12).

Last week, our 8th graders visited Laurel Ridge Community College for their World of Work day. Students were able to meet people from various job industries.

Congratulations to Tyler T. for his Pawsitive Behavior Referral! Mrs. Preston recognized Tyler for his choice to focus on work and listen to instructions. He was polite, prepared, and ready to learn from the moment he walked into class.
