📜 From the vault at the Center for Adventist Research: a Greek manuscript codex on parchment dating to the 9th–10th centuries, containing portions of the Gospels of Luke and John.

Its 36 surviving leaves are part of the George B. Suhrie Bible Collection, offering a glimpse into the handwritten transmission of the biblical text.

Join us to celebrate the publication of "Temporal Dimensions of the Apocalypse: Ancient Christian Reception and Contemporary Hermeneutical Reflections" by Bohdan Kuryliak, published by Mohr Siebeck.

In this book, Dr. Kuryliak examines Revelation through four interpretive approaches: preterism, idealism, historicism, and futurism. Drawing on biblical exegesis and ancient Christian reception history, he argues that historicism’s integration of past, present, and future offers a framework for understanding Revelation’s prophetic imagery.

The evening will offer an opportunity to meet the author, hear about the research behind the book, and celebrate its publication. The program will include a welcome and introduction, an author presentation, a moderated conversation, audience Q&A, and closing remarks. A book signing and reception will follow.

Bohdan Kuryliak is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich and an associate professor of New Testament at the Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences.

We were pleased to welcome a large delegation of Adventist Church leaders from around the world to the Center for Adventist Research at Andrews University, including leaders from the General Conference and World Divisions. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the work and mission of the Center.

The face of Adventism at Harvard Divinity School symposium on Practices of Inclusion in Spiritual Communities, the Academy, and Society. Valentyna Kuryliak presented "Belonging without Requiring a Shared Denomination: Hospital Chaplaincy in Wartime Ukraine as a Practice of Moral Presence," Erika Huamaní Rimachi, up and coming Peruvian theologian studying in Italy also presented.

On This Day: September 25, 1890

Dedication services were held for the Pitcairn, the missionary ship paid for by Sabbath school offerings. Less than a month later it sailed from Oakland straight to Pitcairn Island. Over the next ten years it made six voyages, carrying missionaries who opened work on many South Pacific islands.
