Orientation Week is HERE (Aug. 17–23)! New students and their families kicked things off at First Stop on Monday, Aug. 17, in the Andreasen Center for Wellness. Students checked their registration status, completed residence hall check-in, and signed up for free gym memberships. Parents and supporters were right there cheering them on!

Convocation & Matriculation 🎓✨
Andrews officially welcomed the incoming class at Convocation in Pioneer Memorial Church on Monday afternoon, followed by a special Matriculation ceremony. A new chapter begins!

Faculty & Staff Institute 2026: AI and the Imago Dei 🤖✨
The annual Faculty & Staff Institute took place Aug. 12–13, exploring how artificial intelligence intersects with our God-given identity. Keynote speaker Dewey Murdick, professor and senior fellow at Georgetown University, challenged attendees to embrace informed agency and applied hope in the age of AI.

Learning Together 📚🙌
Faculty and staff dove into breakout sessions covering vocation, pedagogy, research, AI, advancement, and storytelling. Sessions featured hands-on learning, rich discussions, and colleagues teaching colleagues. Dining Services kept everyone fueled with a delicious lunch!

State of the University 🎤🐦
President Taylor wrapped up the institute with the State of the University Address on Wednesday afternoon. Exciting things ahead for the new school year!

Growth looks different for everyone.

Since coming to Andrews, this student has found more opportunities, met more people, and discovered how connection can change who you are. From building the confidence to strike up conversations, to stepping into initiative and maturity, the journey here has stretched them in ways they didn’t expect.

A missionary year of service in Palau became a turning point, not just academically, but in shaping a clear sense of purpose. What started as homesickness and uncertainty has grown into confidence, both in the classroom and in life.

“When I first got here, I didn’t know how to say the basic things. And now, look at me.”

That’s what an Andrews education can do.

Summer Graduation 2026: Congratulations, Graduates! 🎓🎉
Andrews University's Summer Graduation took place from July 31 to August 2, 2026! What an incredible weekend celebrating our newest alumni with their friends and families.

Friday Celebrations ✨
Graduates gathered for a Vespers service on Friday evening. The School of Communication Sciences & Disorders held its White Coat Ceremony, and social work graduates were honored at a recognition ceremony.

Sabbath Blessings 🙏
Erton Köhler, president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, delivered a powerful Baccalaureate message and completed his own Doctor of Ministry degree this weekend! The School of Rehabilitation Sciences held a White Coat Ceremony, the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences hosted a Dedication and Certificate Ceremony, and Seminary graduates gathered for a special dedication service.

Commencement Sunday 🎓☀️
Audrey Andersson, general vice president for the Seventh-day Adventist World Church, addressed graduates from the College of Education & International Services and the Seminary. H. Melvin Ming, former CEO of Sesame Workshop, received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration.

Allen Wellborn, manager of Custodial Services, was recognized for working his final graduation ceremony after nearly 40 years of dedicated service. Thank you for everything!

🎓 Part two of a morning we will not forget!

The College of Education and International Services and the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary celebrated Commencement, honoring graduates who are heading out to teach, to pastor and to serve communities around the world.

Among them, a moment that made the whole room stand a little taller: Pastor Erton Köhler, world president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Andrews University. A reminder that no matter where God takes you, there is always more to learn.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. The world is waiting for you.
