From innovative tech strategies and classroom management to student wellness and new instructional techniques, teachers and staff from Berrien County school districts are sharing ideas, swapping stories, and learning together.

EdForward Conference keynote speaker Carl Ho**er (carlhooker.com) brought energy, humor, and practical wisdom—challenging us to innovate, embrace creativity, and lead with a human-centered approach to learning.

In his interactive keynote, Carl discussed the ethical ramifications of AI and gave examples of how using AI in the classroom can actually encourage deeper learning and understanding.

Something big is happening at Lake Michigan College on Friday! Almost 1500 Berrien County educators will participate in the 2026 EdForward Professional Development event. Over 100 speakers will be presenting throughout the day. Learning together to help students succeed!

The Berrien RESA Math & Science Center Sophomore class was off on an adventure in the sun and heat of the Smoky Mountains! We experienced stunning weather and breathtaking beauty around every corner. Be sure to ask them about being a food waste hero, stream physics, some of the fun campfire songs, salamandering, caving and the ever-popular bus ride!! This trip exists to bond our sophomore class, expose them to new ecosystems and the natural science that exists around them, and reinforce the interconnectivity of the science fields! Shout-out to our computer science teacher, Mr. Walker, for accompanying us on this adventure!

Whole Child Consultant, Abbie Benfield, was recently honored as the 🌟 Community Member of the Year 🌟 by the Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan!

Each year, the Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan's staff nominate and vote for individuals who have been the most instrumental in the center's success and in supporting local children.
