About three weeks ago, we officially launched the BEAR (Berrien Engineering, AI, & Robotics) Summer Program—thanks to generous support from Versacare, along with ThinkerBox and the School of Business Administration at Andrews University.
To prepare, we transformed my advanced automation lab into a robotics haven for middle schoolers. Over 10 action-packed days (5 for beginners, 5 for intermediates), students dove into hands-on engineering and computing concepts—without losing the fun.
What started as games and challenges quickly turned into serious innovation. These young minds were building robotic masterpieces and coding autonomous routines like pros—all on their own.
Our goal is simple: to bring our years of university-level expertise to our local community through engaging, hands-on robotics education.
We’re just getting started. BEAR is here to build the next generation of creators, coders, and engineers.
